On August 21, 2026, Almaty hosted the business forum “The Future of Work: Business and Universities,” organized by the Association of Banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The forum brought together university presidents, corporate executives, leaders from the financial, banking, energy, oil and gas, mining, and IT sectors, alongside national business education experts.

Gulzana Serikova, Founder of M. Tynyshpayev ALT University, addressed the forum as a keynote speaker. She outlined the university’s strategic vision and shared best practices in educating professionals aligned with modern market demands. Her participation highlighted critical dialogues surrounding business-academia synergy, human capital growth, and innovative educational frameworks designed for rapidly shifting technological and economic landscapes.

A dedicated workshop session focused on actionable strategies, where Aigul Sultanguzhieva, Head of the Career Development Department at ALT University, actively engaged in collaborative problem-solving. This practical segment aimed to identify shared tools enabling universities and employers to systematically elevate student and graduate competencies.

Central to the forum’s agenda was the transformation of the global labor market driven by artificial intelligence, digitalization, and evolving employment models. Beyond shifting career roles, recruiter expectations are transforming: employers increasingly demand agile professionals capable of mastering advanced technologies, excelling in cross-disciplinary teams, and solving multifaceted challenges.

In response, higher education and industry must build structured, long-term partnerships. Forum participants explored actionable frameworks to modernize academic curricula, upgrade faculty and graduate skillsets, and enhance dual-education models leveraging cutting-edge technology.

Following the forum, a comprehensive Roadmap will be developed. It will incorporate practical recommendations for curriculum enhancement, agile competency-building frameworks for students and educators, and modernized avenues for university-employer engagement.

For ALT University, participating in such industry platforms provides a vital opportunity not only to exchange expertise with business and academic leaders, but also to forge strategic alliances that closely align higher education with real-world economic demands.

ALT University remains committed to deepening its corporate partnerships, ensuring students acquire relevant competencies and build successful professional careers.
