On October 25, 2026, Turkistan Marathon 2026 took place in the city of Turkistan, bringing together runners committed to endurance, physical fitness, and personal achievement. Two professors from ALT University named after Mukhametzhan Tynyshpayev participated in the event, demonstrating determination, perseverance, and a high level of physical preparation.

The university was represented by:

  • Kanat Daubayev — Professor at the Department of Logistics and Business, who successfully completed the full marathon distance of 42.195 km.

  • Nurbek Dzhakupov — Professor at the Department of Rolling Stock, who successfully completed the half-marathon distance of 21.0975 km.

Both professors crossed the finish line and received Turkistan Marathon 2026 finisher medals, demonstrating that perseverance, discipline, and commitment to achieving goals are essential not only in professional life but also in sports.

Marathon running is considered one of the most demanding endurance events in athletics. Completing such distances requires consistent training, physical and mental preparation, strong willpower, and a high degree of self-discipline.

The professors’ participation was particularly symbolic, as Turkistan Marathon 2026 coincided with Kazakhstan’s Republic Day on October 25. Their sporting achievements became a meaningful tribute to one of the country’s major national holidays, reflecting patriotism, determination, and the pursuit of personal excellence.

Participation in sporting events of this kind highlights the professors’ commitment to an active and healthy lifestyle and serves as a positive example for students and colleagues. Their achievements demonstrate that professional development, academic activities, and sports can successfully complement one another.

ALT University takes pride in the achievements of its faculty members and continues to support initiatives that promote sports culture, physical well-being, and an active lifestyle throughout the university community.
