On September 23, 2026, the results of the global UI GreenMetric Sustainable University Rankings 2026 were officially announced at the Results and Awards Ceremony in Baku.
According to the latest ranking results, Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpayev ALT University achieved the following positions:

983rd globally;

585th among Asian universities;
-
14th among universities in Kazakhstan.
In 2026, a total of 2,016 universities from 110 countries evaluated their sustainability performance, including 41 higher education institutions from Kazakhstan. ALT University placed in the top half of the global rankings and joined the top 35% of Kazakhstani universities, outperforming 27 domestic institutions.
UI GreenMetric evaluates university sustainability across seven core categories: setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water usage, eco-friendly transportation, education and research, alongside governance and digitalization.
ALT University demonstrated its strongest achievements in the following areas:

Education & Research — 1,000 out of 1,300 points;

Transportation — 1,100 out of 1,700 points;

Governance & Digitalization — 722.5 out of 1,100 points.
Participation in the UI GreenMetric framework allows the university to assess the impact of its sustainability initiatives, benchmark performance metrics against world-leading institutions, and refine strategic goals for campus development.
