On September 1–2, 2026, Astana hosted the Second Conference “China–Central Asia Young Engineers Exchange 2026,” co-organized by the Central Asian Association for Accreditation of Education (CAAAE) and the China Society of Engineers (CSE). The event aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation between China and Central Asian nations across engineering education, scientific and technological innovation, and workforce development.
M. Tynyshpayev ALT University actively participated in the conference, showcasing its institutional expertise in educating high-caliber engineering professionals.
Meruert Zharmagambetova, Chairman of the Board – Rector of ALT University, delivered a keynote address during the plenary session titled “Practice-Oriented Education: From Industry Demand to Verified Engineering Competence.”
In her address, the Rector outlined the university’s strategy for advancing practice-oriented pedagogy and modernizing academic curricula to meet evolving industrial standards. She emphasized that educating engineers requires not only foundational theory, but also practical capability to execute real-world industrial and technological solutions.
Shamil Abdreshov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at ALT University, also actively engaged in the conference proceedings.
The summit convened delegations from higher education institutions, engineering societies, research organizations, and industrial enterprises across China and Central Asia. Key topics covered international rail transport partnerships, artificial intelligence applications in energy, transport infrastructure development, and best practices in engineering pedagogy.
A central highlight was facilitating direct interaction among early-career engineers. Participants showcased innovative research, evaluated technical solutions, and engaged in knowledge-sharing through technical panels, presentations, and interactive workshops.
