ALT University continues to broaden its strategic cooperation with enterprise partners and professional networks. The university hosted an official delegation from SAMGA Petroleum and the Bolashak Association, culminating in the signing of two bilateral memorandums of understanding.
ALT University was represented by Meruert Zharmagambetova, Chair of the Board – Rector; Shamil Abdreshov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; Andrey Ivanov, Vice-Rector for Corporate and Social Development; Bagdat Teltayev, Academician of the NAS RK, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and Director of the Institute of Transport Sciences and Technologies; alongside school directors, department chairs, and senior faculty members.
The SAMGA Petroleum delegation was headed by General Director Zhanibek Katrenov, Deputy Director of Production Arman Aralov, and Scientific Advisor to the General Director Auez Egemberdiyevich Abetov—a prominent Kazakhstani geophysicist, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor, and Academician of the NAS RK.
Zhanibek Katrenov also serves as Chairman of the Board of the Bolashak Association, which unites alumni of the prestigious presidential scholarship scheme to champion initiatives across science, education, enterprise, healthcare, and culture.
During the session, SAMGA Petroleum executives presented updates on advanced geophysical exploration and seismic processing. Special interest was drawn to a demonstration of STRYDE seismic receiver nodes utilized in high-density geophysical data collection. Attendees evaluated strategies for embedding contemporary production workflows and field tools into academic curricula.
Strategic discussions focused on key academic domains, including engineering education, transport logistics, information technology, and telecommunications. The parties outlined roadmaps for industrial internships, guest lectures by corporate experts, real-world case study design, and enhanced graduate recruitment pathways.
Following the roundtable, the delegation toured the ALT University campus, examining research laboratories, specialized engineering halls, and student learning environments.
The visit concluded with the formal execution of two strategic partnerships:
-
The memorandum with SAMGA Petroleum focuses on reinforcing ties between academia and industrial operations, enriching practical engineering training, and driving applied research.
-
The memorandum with the Bolashak Association establishes a framework for joint educational programs, expert consulting, knowledge exchange, and engaging business and scientific leaders in university initiatives.
By deepening industry-academic collaboration, ALT University reinforces the applied rigor of its degree programs, expands opportunities for students, and advances competitive workforce development tailored to the strategic needs of Kazakhstan’s economy.
