In the summer of 2026, the ALT University team successfully completed a business incubation and acceleration program for scientific projects organized as part of the scientific grant competition by the Akimat of Almaty. Following the training, the SmartEcoLog project — a unified digital ecosystem for managing Almaty’s commercial traffic flows — received a certificate of completion, confirming its high development standard and readiness for further implementation.

The scientific grant competition is conducted by the Akimat of Almaty to support applied R&D and promote its integration into urban infrastructure, digitalization, and sustainable city development. In 2026, the competition received 229 proposals, 191 of which advanced to the second stage after preliminary screening. ALT University’s SmartEcoLog was among the selected projects.

During the second phase, participants underwent an intensive five-week business incubation program aimed at refining scientific solutions, defining business models, advancing Technology Readiness Levels (TRL), evaluating commercial potential, and preparing for the final pitch before the competition board.

About the SmartEcoLog Project

SmartEcoLog is an innovative digital platform developed by ALT University researchers for intelligent commercial transport management in Almaty. The project integrates Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Big Data, and cloud-based SaaS architecture to calculate eco-friendly and cost-effective commercial routes.

By factoring in urban topography, traffic density, environmental zones, fuel consumption, CO₂ and NOx emission levels, and noise pollution, the platform generates optimized “green” routes that reduce environmental impact. The project aims to achieve a 15–20% reduction in fuel consumption and emissions, enhance urban logistics efficiency, and accelerate Almaty’s Smart City initiatives.
