On December 23, 2025, during the winter examination session, Associate Professor K. S. Mustapaev of the ALT Department of Rolling Stock conducted a case-based exam with completion and defense for 4th-year students of the educational program 6B07117 — Locomotives (groups L-22-1k, L-22-2k) in the course Microprocessor-Based Automatic Control Systems for Locomotives.
During the exam, students delivered presentations and provided written and oral answers to assessment questions. The case assignments were designed to reinforce theoretical knowledge and develop practical skills in the design and calculation of microprocessor-based locomotive control systems.
Particular emphasis was placed on developing engineering thinking, justifying calculation methods, and explaining the technical solutions adopted. The results of the defense confirmed that the objectives of the exam were achieved, and the case-based format proved to be an effective practice-oriented assessment method that supports the development of professional competencies required for future railway transport engineers.
