From June 16 to 20, corporate training under the program “Railway Mainline EnergyProfi” was held in Almaty.

A large-scale corporate training took place at ALT University for heads of power supply divisions from all regions of Kazakhstan — representatives of the branches of JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy”. The program brought together more than 30 participants and was aimed at developing professional and managerial competencies in the field of railway energy.

Over the course of five days, participants went through an intensive program that included thematic trainings and sessions on relevant topics such as:

  • operation and testing of electrical equipment,
  • conflict management and negotiation skills,
  • lean manufacturing,
  • relay protection and emergency automation,
  • obtaining a winter readiness certificate,
  • compliance with energy regulations and standards,
  • use of artificial intelligence in the railway sector.

A foresight session was also held to discuss ways to integrate educational cases into real-world practice with the involvement of stakeholders. The event was organized by the faculty of the Department of Energy under the leadership of Head of Department Yegzekova A.

As part of the training, a field visit was made to the production site of LLP “Nova Vision”, where participants were introduced to the company’s innovative products.

Special attention was paid to personal and team effectiveness, as well as occupational health and technical safety. The program was opened and concluded with the participation of the management of the Mainline Network Directorate of JSC “NC “KTZ” and ALT University.

Upon completion of the program, participants received personalized certificates. During the award ceremony, speeches were delivered by the Rector of ALT University, M.S. Zharmagambetova, and the Director of the Department of Energy and Electrification of the Mainline Network Directorate, K.R. Akhmetbekov.

President-Rector of ALT University, M.S. Zharmagambetova, highlighted the importance of strategic cooperation between the university and «Kazakhstan Temir Zholy» in developing highly qualified personnel. She emphasized that ALT University not only delivers academic education but also aims to be an active partner in advancing industry expertise. In her speech, she encouraged participants to apply the acquired knowledge in practice, to lead their teams with confidence, and to contribute to the modernization of Kazakhstan’s railway energy infrastructure.

Director of the Department of Energy and Electrification of the Mainline Network Directorate, K.R. Akhmetbekov, expressed his gratitude to the university’s faculty and administration for the well-organized training. He noted that the “EnergyProfi” program meets the current needs of the sector and plays a vital role in developing a new generation of energy managers. He stressed the importance of continuous professional development, implementation of innovative and lean technologies, and digital transformation — including AI solutions in energy systems. He also expressed confidence that this training would become the foundation for safer and more effective operations across the entire energy service of the railway network.

The training not only facilitated the exchange of experience but also became a platform for building a professional community of railway energy specialists.
