As part of the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 17 (SDG 17) “Partnerships for the Goals,” a master class was held at ALT University with the participation of managers and specialists from Alatau Zharyq Company JSC (AZC).
The event was attended by students of the Electrical Power Engineering and IT Energy educational programs, as well as the teaching staff of the Department of Energy at ALT University.
The main objective of the event was to familiarize students with the activities of Alatau Zharyq Company JSC, its role in the power grid sector, its key areas of operation, as well as modern approaches to the digitalization of the energy industry.
During the master class, participants discussed current issues related to energy digitalization, digital literacy, cybersecurity, and the prospects for applying artificial intelligence technologies in industrial activities.
As part of the event, AZC specialists delivered lectures on the following topics:

Lecturer — Aldiyar Iskakov, Deputy Head of the Department for the Operation of Communication Systems and Automated Electricity Metering Systems (AEMS). - “Digital Literacy and Cybersecurity”
Lecturers — Magzhan Arin, Deputy Head of the Department for the Operation of Dispatch and Technological Systems, and Askar Tulegenov, Head of the Industrial Technological Systems Support Division. - “Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities, Risks and Challenges of the Modern Era”
Lecturer — Askhat Zhamanov, Head of the SCADA/Dispatch Control System Operation Service.
The event generated considerable interest among both students and teaching staff. Participants actively engaged in discussions, asked the lecturers questions, and showed particular interest in the practical application of digital technologies, cybersecurity issues, and the potential use of artificial intelligence in the energy sector.
