On January 12, 2026, an educational event — the «My Kazakhstan» quiz — was conducted by Associate Professor Abisheva D. of the Department of Language Education for first-year students of various specialties at the University. The aim of the event was to develop students’ language skills and expand their knowledge about Kazakhstan.
The quiz included questions on the geography, history, culture, education, and state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The format of the activity encouraged active student engagement: participants worked individually and in groups, discussed their answers, and justified their points of view in English.
The questions related to the national traditions of Kazakhstan awaked particular interest among the students. The quiz contributed to the development of critical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to use English vocabulary in a real-life context. The students demonstrated strong interest in the topic as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
