On December 18, 2025, the Academy of Logistics and Transport (ALT) hosted a scientific and educational seminar titled: “Reliability of Railway Transport and SDGs: An Engineer’s Professional Choice.” The event took place in Room G002, bringing together students, graduate students, and faculty members of the “Rolling Stock” Department.

The primary objective of the seminar was to explore the link between the technical reliability of transport systems and the UN Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Key discussion points included:

  • How ensuring accident-free operations and equipment durability contributes to SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure);
  • The impact of an engineer’s professional responsibility on the economic stability and environmental safety of the country;
  • Implementation of innovative diagnostic methods to enhance resource efficiency.

The seminar emphasized that a modern engineer is not merely a technical specialist but a socially responsible professional whose decisions directly influence the sustainable development of Kazakhstan’s transport industry.
