At the beginning of the 20th century, Mukhametzhan Tynyshbayev was a prominent figure among the Kazakh intelligentsia, public figures, and government officials. He was the first engineer and historian of Kazakh descent, a man who contributed greatly to his people. A man who did much for his people. To mark the anniversary of the death of his distinguished descendant, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Professor Daulet Sheikh-Ali Tynyshbayev, a roundtable discussion was held today, chaired by Nurshaken Zhunisova, President of the Kazakh-British Technical University of the M. Tynyshbayev Foundation.
The event, a round table entitled “The Great Generation – Exemplary Scientist – Teacher,” was very impressive. Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Saltanat Nuradilovna gave a presentation and spoke about the awards and scientific achievements of Daulet Mukhamedzhenuly during his tenure at the Kazakh-British Technical University, when Adil Akhmetov was rector. She also recounted meeting Daulet Mukhamedzhanuly at the 90th anniversary of the M. Tynyshbaev Academy of ALT and learning a great deal. Nurshaken Apai tearfully recalled how she found him, Doctor of Natural Sciences, Professor Daulet Mukhamedzhanuly, and how the brothers greeted him during their meeting. Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Gulbanu Salamaddinovna Zhugenbaeva talks about the difficult life path of M. Tynyshbaev, historical sciences, associate professor Shamshieva Gaukhar Sagyndykovna reported that Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Daulet Mukhamedzhanuly visited the grave of Ashirbaev Galymzhan Kozhakhatuly in Chicago, USA, where he prayed at the grave, met with Adelia Dauletkyzy, and also met with his son, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Askar Dauletuly. Tastulekov Bakytzhan Sabituly impressively recounted how in 1997, when he first arrived in Kazakhstan with Daulet Mukhametzhanuly, he was warmly welcomed by famous figures of the time and hosted large parties.
During the open exchange of opinions, the floor was given to KBTU faculty members: Abdullahat Abdikarimovich Ismailov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, emphasized that during his time working with Professor Daulet Mukhamedzhanovich, he was a strong specialist and scientist in the oil industry. Farid Fakreevich Umarov responded to a question from Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Daulet Mukhamedzhanovich about Tashkent and the achievements of his son, Askar Dauletuly, during his tenure as head of the department. Valery Vasilyevich Korobkin highly praised the outstanding work of the son of the first Kazakh engineer, Mukhamedzhan Tynyshbaev, on the construction of the Turksib railway, noting that he became acquainted with this man’s work back in the 1960s. During the round table, the film “Project of the Century” about M. Tynyshbaev was shown. At the end of the evening, the head of the Foundation, M. Tynyshbayeva Nurshaken Apai, presented Saltanat Nuradilykyzyna with the medal “M. Tynyshbaeva.”
