The Department of Information and Communication Technologies is organizing the “Green IT” hackathon aimed at developing innovative IT solutions in the fields of sustainable development, energy efficiency, and environmental digitalization. The main goal of the event is to engage students in creating technological projects that promote rational use of resources, reduction of carbon footprint, and the development of green technologies in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).

Main hackathon tracks:

  • 🌱 Green AI – development of energy-efficient artificial intelligence algorithms.
  • ⚡ Smart Energy (SDG 7) – systems for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing energy consumption.
  • ☀️ Renewable Energy (SDG 7) – digital solutions for solar and renewable energy.
  • ♻️ Waste Management (SDG 12) – IT solutions for waste recycling and circular economy.
  • 🌍 Sustainable Development (SDGs) – digital solutions contributing to the SDGs.
  • 🏙 Smart City – intelligent eco-friendly urban systems.
  • 📊 Data Science for Ecology – environmental data analysis.
  • 🌐 IoT for Green Tech – smart sensors for environmental monitoring.

The hackathon contributes to the development of students’ practical skills, fosters environmental awareness, and prepares future specialists capable of developing digital solutions for sustainable energy and efficient resource management.

Based on the results of the hackathon, winners of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places will be selected. The winners will be awarded diplomas, cash prizes, and valuable gifts. The prize fund is aimed at supporting talented students and promoting innovative projects in the field of Green IT and sustainable energy.
