On May 14, 2026, a guest lecture entitled “The Mission of a Modern Civil Servant in Ensuring Sustainable Economic Growth” was organized by Associate Professor A.Zh. Sugurova and Senior Lecturers K.Zh. Demeuova and Sh.A. Igenbayeva of the Department of Transport Services and Business.
The invited speaker was Madi Alisher Aligazyuly, Chief Specialist of the Public Services Department of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs in the Zhetysu Region.
During the lecture, the speaker discussed the role of civil servants in implementing public policy, ensuring the provision of high-quality public services, and creating favorable conditions for the country’s sustainable socio-economic development. Particular attention was paid to professional ethics in the civil service, the principles of meritocracy, transparency and accountability in public administration, as well as the modern competencies required of civil service professionals.
Students gained valuable insights into the functioning of the civil service system in the Republic of Kazakhstan, had the opportunity to ask questions, and discussed career development prospects within the public sector.
Such events help strengthen the connection between academic learning and practical experience in public administration, broaden students’ professional perspectives, and increase their awareness of current trends in governance and public service.
The event was organized within the framework of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG 8) – “Decent Work and Economic Growth”, which aims to promote sustainable economic development, effective institutions, and the development of a highly qualified workforce.
