As part of the dual training in the discipline “Fundamentals of automation and track sensors”, students took practical classes at the Almaty Alarm and Communication Distance. The students got acquainted with the device and principles of operation of automation and telemechanic systems, their classification, basic parameters and types of relays.
During the practice, the following were demonstrated:
- Operation of the electrical centralization system of the Almaty-1 station;
- Auto-locking system on the tracks;
- The work of microprocessor control centers (Ebilock-950 MPDC, Neman MPDC) and domestic ASDC in the control room.
Students studied the principles of operation of mechanical, thermal and electrical relays, as well as methods to increase the service life of contact groups in the workshop of the CMP SCI. Contact designs, requirements for elastic elements, ways to reduce sparking and increase reliability through the use of special circuits and protective devices were considered.
Special attention was paid to the requirements for relays in railway automation systems: high reliability and safety, long service life (20-30 years), round-the–clock operation and resistance to difficult climatic conditions, due to the intensity of train traffic and the need to operate modern alarm and communication systems.
