On September 3, 2026, ALT University held an introductory class for students of SR ЦТТС-25-1к, 2к as part of the new course “Innovative Technologies in Road Construction.”
The class was conducted with the participation of an industry representative — Nikolay Yuryevich Alekseev, representative of the Almaty Traffic Management Center, and L.K. Bekmagambetova, Associate Professor at ALT University and lecturer at the Department of Logistics and Business.
The meeting was organized in the format of a professional dialogue and provided students with their first introduction to the content of the new course, its practical focus, and modern technologies applied in the transport and road sector.
During the session, Nikolay Yuryevich Alekseev introduced the students to the main areas of activity of the Almaty Traffic Management Center, current challenges in traffic organization and management, as well as modern approaches to the analysis and modeling of traffic flows.
Particular attention was paid to the use of digital technologies for analyzing traffic conditions, assessing the capacity of the urban road network, and developing effective solutions aimed at improving traffic management and enhancing the efficiency of urban transport infrastructure.
L.K. Bekmagambetova, Associate Professor at ALT University, presented the content of the course “Innovative Technologies in Road Construction,” its objectives, key areas, and expected learning outcomes. Special emphasis was placed on the practice-oriented nature of the course and the importance of developing professional and digital competencies that meet the current requirements of the transport and road sector.
One of the key components of the course will be training students to use the specialized software products PTV Vissim and PTV Visum, which are designed for traffic flow modeling and transport network analysis.
Working with these software solutions will enable students to acquire practical skills in developing transport models, simulating traffic flows, analyzing road network congestion and capacity, and evaluating the effectiveness of various traffic management solutions.
The participation of specialists from the Almaty Traffic Management Center, who have practical experience in applying modern digital technologies and transport modeling tools to real-world professional tasks, adds particular value to this educational format.
During the meeting, students had the opportunity to ask questions, discuss current trends in the development of Almaty’s transport infrastructure, and learn which professional knowledge, digital skills, and competencies are currently in demand in traffic management and urban transport system development.
Such practice-oriented classes contribute to strengthening cooperation between ALT University and the industry sector, integrating modern digital technologies into the educational process, and improving the quality of practical training for future specialists.
