On October 22, 2026, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Environmental Monitoring: Development Prospects” was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan. The conference was organized by Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University as part of the implementation of the grant-funded research project AP23489325, “Modeling the Spatiotemporal Dynamics of Population Health Indicators in the East Kazakhstan Region Using GIS Technologies.”

The international conference was attended by representatives of the academic staff of the Department of Telecommunications at ALT University named after Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpayev: Smailova D.A., Khabibollakyzy B., and Almetova E.M.

During the scientific event, a research paper entitled «“Mathematical Modeling, Big Data, and Digital Technologies: Forecasting Environmental Risks and Public Health Dynamics”» was presented. The study focused on the application of modern digital technologies to analyze environmental conditions and predict potential risks to public health.

The research explored the potential of mathematical modeling, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT) for monitoring atmospheric air pollution, analyzing meteorological conditions, and assessing environmental risks. Particular attention was given to forecasting environmental conditions 24–72 hours in advance, using the city of Almaty as a case study.

Participation in the international conference contributed to strengthening scientific cooperation between higher education institutions, facilitating the exchange of research experience, and expanding opportunities for collaboration in digital technologies, environmental monitoring, and sustainable development.

This initiative aligns with «Sustainable Development Goal 17 (SDG 17), “Partnerships for the Goals,”» by promoting inter-university scientific cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the development of joint research initiatives aimed at addressing pressing environmental and social challenges.

ALT University continues to strengthen scientific cooperation with national and international educational and research institutions, supporting the participation of its academic staff in international scientific events and the integration of innovative technologies into research and educational activities.
