On March 31, 2026, a vibrant and inspiring event titled “Kazakhstan is My Home” was held at the Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpayev ALT University, dedicated to the International Day of Happiness.
The event served as a platform bringing together representatives of different generations — from the youngest participants to the elderly. The core idea of the event was to reflect on happiness as a value formed through simple yet significant moments, while demonstrating the continuity of generations as a foundation for the sustainable development of society.
The opening ceremony was led by the Chairwoman of the Board – Rector of ALT University, Meruert Zharmagambetova. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of mutual understanding, unity, and supporting the creative potential of the youth:
“Such events not only foster a sense of belonging to the country but also create a space where people of all ages can hear and understand one another.”
The centerpiece of the program was a creative workshop organized in the university’s main conference hall. Participants ranging in age from 3 to 70 years created artworks reflecting their personal perception of happiness and love for their homeland. Using watercolors, colored pencils, and various artistic materials, everyone was given the opportunity to express their individuality.
The event reflects the university’s contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, promoting social cohesion (SDG 11), the development of creative potential and informal education (SDG 4), and supporting the psychological well-being of participants (SDG 3). Following the creative session, the best works were honored with diplomas in the categories of “Master of Inspiration” and “Young Artist.”
Such initiatives highlight the vital role of educational institutions in shaping societal values. “Kazakhstan is My Home” served as a reminder that happiness is born through unity, creativity, and the ability to share warmth with those around us.
