On March 2 of the current year, a meaningful and informative meeting titled “Law and Order: A Safe Society” was held at the university. The main purpose of the event was to enhance legal awareness among young people, raise awareness of cybersecurity issues, and promote the principle of the rule of law.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Almaty City Police Department — Captain Amir Baurzhanuly, an operative officer of the Cybercrime Prevention Unit; Prosecutor Ernazar Bolatzhanuly Saimasai from the Almaly District Prosecutor’s Office; and Al-Farabi Nurbekuly Bolatzhan, Deputy Head of the Center for Public Development of the Almaty City Internal Policy Department.
During the meeting, the speakers addressed issues of crime prevention, protection against online fraud, safeguarding personal data, and improving digital literacy. Particular attention was given to the types of cybercrimes and practical ways to prevent them.
The event was held in an open dialogue format, allowing students to ask questions and receive comprehensive answers from representatives of the relevant authorities. Such initiatives help strengthen young people’s sense of legal responsibility and foster an active civic stance.
The meeting aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16 — “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions,” which aims to promote the rule of law and build safe and inclusive societies.
