On April 24, a meaningful meeting with students was held at the university as part of the “Law and Order” campaign on the topic “Ensuring social stability through enhancing legal literacy.”
This event served as an important platform aimed at developing legal awareness among young people, fostering respect for the law, and strengthening civic responsibility.
The meeting brought together experienced legal professionals who shared their knowledge and practical expertise:
- Alimov Olzhas Tolegenuly – Chairman of the Chamber of Legal Consultants “Center for Legal Protection and Legal Services,”
- Abzelbek Shynar – Press Secretary of the Almaty City Department of Justice,
- Duzelbay Aidana – Leading Specialist of the Control Department in the field of registration services of the Almaty City Department of Justice,
- Sherkhuatuly Badam – Deputy Chairman of the Regional Chamber of Private Bailiffs of Almaty,
- Orazbek Bekarys – Chief Specialist of the Department for Legal Awareness and Legal Services of the Almaty City Department of Justice.
During the meeting, the speakers emphasized the crucial role of legal literacy in ensuring social stability, noting that awareness of one’s rights and responsibilities is a key prerequisite for building a just society.
Students received practical legal guidance, and the application of legal norms was explained through real-life examples.
The event aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In particular, it supports SDG 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” by promoting the rule of law and the development of a fair and transparent society. It also contributes to SDG 4 “Quality Education” by enhancing students’ legal knowledge.
Such initiatives represent an important step toward building a conscious, law-abiding, and responsible society.
