Within the framework of the month of “SCIENCE” at ALT University on April 14, 2026, a joint scientific seminar of the departments was held “Rolling stock” and “Motor vehicles and Belarusian Railways,” which discussed the dissertation work of Phd Candidate of the Kazakh National Research University named after K.I. Satpayev – Askenov Erlan Nurlanuly “Study of reliability indicators of an electric locomotive KZ4A using an automated on-board system for diagnosing technical condition” according to the educational program of the 8D07110- “Digital engineering of machines and equipment.” Scientific consultant of the dissertation, Doctor of Technical Sciences Professor Abdulaev S.S., foreign scientific consultant Professor Grachev V.V. (St. Petersburg, RF).
Critical comments were made on the main results of the dissertation, the scientific novelty and practical value of the study were discussed, and the reliability of the on-board diagnostics system during the operation of the electric locomotive was considered.

SDG 13 – Tackling climate change. Rail transport is the most environmentally friendly type of transportation. Improving the efficiency of electric locomotives will help reduce emissions of harmful waste and carbon footprint in the atmosphere compared to a car.
