On February 18, 2026, the Department of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Physical Education celebrated National Day. On this special day, faculty, staff, and students wore traditional Kazakh costumes to honor and promote national heritage.
The event was dedicated to the ancient “Toibastar” tradition—the heartfelt wishes and blessings pronounced at the very beginning of a celebration. Historically, during wedding ceremonies, young people expressed their sincere hopes through improvised poetic verses, concluding with a formal blessing (bata). In return, the hosts presented them with special gifts, symbolizing the start of the festivities with pure intentions and a path toward prosperity.
The inspiring tradition of celebrating National Day at the university continues every Wednesday, fostering a deep connection to cultural roots within the academic community.
