A university is a space for growth, freedom of thought, and personal choice. It is here that not only a profession is formed, but also a way of life, values, and responsibility for oneself and one’s future. In this context, the issue of drugs is not a matter of morality, but a matter of preserving the mind, health, and life opportunities.
Narcotic substances are toxic compounds that directly damage the brain and nervous system. They negatively affect memory, attention, the ability to learn, and decision-making. Where there should be ambition, goals, and energy, addiction emerges, along with a loss of willpower and self-control.
Regular drug use leads to serious consequences for the body: the heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, and immune system suffer. The risk of heart attacks, strokes, psychoses, depression, and suicidal states increases significantly. Many substances cause strong dependence after just a few uses, and even a “one-time experiment” can become a point of no return.
The student age is particularly vulnerable, as the brain continues to actively develop during this period. Any drug interference at this stage can lead to irreversible changes: emotional stability is disrupted, anxiety increases, panic attacks appear, as well as bursts of aggression or, conversely, complete apathy. Interest in studies, people, and life in general declines.
Drugs do not solve problems or relieve stress. They only temporarily dull the pain, which then returns in an intensified form. As a result, a vicious cycle of dependence is formed, in which a person moves further and further away from reality and support.
It is also important to consider the social consequences: drug use destroys relationships with family, friends, teachers, and colleagues. Trust is lost, isolation appears, and feelings of loneliness grow.
ALT University is a space of opportunities, where every student is given a chance for professional, academic, and creative self-realization. The University is committed to ensuring that these opportunities are preserved and fully realized.
