An international hackathon that brings together young programmers and creative students has started at the Kazakh National Women’s Pedagogical University.
This year, the competition is held under the name “Tech QyzPU Niğde Hack: AI and Working Professions” and is aimed at developing modern technological skills and supporting innovative thinking.
The event is organized within the framework of the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to raise the prestige of working professions. In addition, the hackathon contributes to the implementation of tasks related to digitalization and the development of artificial intelligence, outlined in the annual Address of the Head of State.
The project is held within the framework of a bilateral agreement with Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University (Republic of Turkey) and Niğde Technopark.
At the opening of the hackathon, Acting Chairman of the Management Board – Rector Sabit Suatay delivered a welcoming speech, highlighting the importance of the event.
“The upcoming 24 hours will become a practical platform for you. A hackathon is not just a competition, it is a celebration of innovation and creativity. Our university is implementing important projects in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital pedagogy, IT and EdTech. Therefore, this hackathon fully corresponds to our strategic goals,” he said.
The main goal of the 24-hour marathon is to develop innovative software solutions in a short period through teamwork. This year, 20 teams from almost ten universities of the country are testing their abilities. The organizers provided all participants with high-speed internet, workspaces, electricity, as well as free meals and beverages.
“I am sincerely pleased with the opening of this hackathon, which is held within the cooperation of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University and the Kazakh National Women’s Pedagogical University. We do not consider this event simply as a competition, but as a stepping stone that opens the way to a new stage and new opportunities. Therefore, we consider each participant a winner. I am confident that it is thanks to this hackathon that doors to future achievements will open for you. Steps are being taken by Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University to implement joint projects,” said Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Doctor Alper Aytekin.
