From November 10 to 21, a professional development program titled “Application of Artificial Intelligence in the Higher Education and Science System” was held for the leadership of higher education institutions in Kazakhstan. The program aimed to develop the competencies necessary for digital transformation and enhancing the digital maturity of universities. A total of 50 participants from 20 Kazakhstani universities, including top university executives, took part in the program.
The program was delivered in a hybrid format (online and offline). Organizers of the course: the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Association of Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and ALT University named after M. Tynyshpaev.
The final sessions of the program were held on November 20–21 at the ALT University campus. Program speakers included: F.N. Zhakypova — Head of the Project Management Office’s Academic Excellence and Global Competitiveness Projects Group, MHES RK, A.A. Ulman — Director of the Geoecology Programs Office, “Qamqor Foundation”, D.A. Zhumabekov — Expert in public administration and high technologies, Education Development Lead for CIS at Microsoft, G.B. Serikova — Founder of ALT University, U.E. Nesipkaliyev — Vice-Rector for Strategic Development, D. Serikbayev EKSTU, O. Kurdanova — Director of Strategic Partnerships, Yandex Qazaqstan, G. Kim — Founder of LumiaAI, an artificial intelligence startup, Asel Musagalieva-Tang — International expert and Founder of the EDUTech Future educational startup
The program served as an important platform for exchanging experiences, generating new ideas, developing university digital development strategies, and strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions and leading experts in the field of artificial intelligence.
