On 15 April 2026, as part of the implementation of SDG 4 ‘Quality Education’, Associate Professor G.S. Shamshieva organised a guest lecture on the topic ‘Preservation of the Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Kazakh People’, delivered by the renowned  ethnographer and professor at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, T.E. Kartaeva.

During the lecture, the traditions of using camels in the life of the Kazakh people were examined. It was noted that in the past, camels were widely used as a means of transport, as well as for economic and medicinal purposes. Examples were given of the use of camel bones and other products in everyday life and folk medicine. Particular attention was paid to depictions of camels in petroglyphs found in Kazakhstan and their historical and cultural significance. The lecture sparked interest among the students and concluded with a discussion.
