On February 9, 2026, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Language Education A. N. Yerkebayeva conducted a master class in the discipline “Foreign Language” focused on the use of video materials to develop students’ communicative competence in English lessons.
The master class was aimed at implementing Sustainable Development Goal 4 – “Quality Education,” which is upheld by ALT University.
Within the framework of this goal, the lesson structure was designed in accordance with the principles of inclusive education. The central task of the lesson was watching and discussing a video about a person with disabilities (YouTube source: “My philosophy for a happy life – Sam Berns”), which allowed the integration of language skill development with the promotion of equality, tolerance, and social responsibility. The selected material directly reflects the ideas of inclusion and equal educational opportunities for all learners, which is a key aspect of SDG 4.
The conducted master class became a clear example of implementing innovative teaching methods in the educational process and confirmed ALT University’s commitment to the principles of quality and inclusive education.
