On April 25, the city of Almaty hosted the “Jas Gala 2026” competition, which became a vibrant platform for student creativity and artistic expression. In this large-scale project organized by the Almaty Students Alliance, the “Salt” student theatre represented M. Tynyshbayev ALT University in the theatre category.
The audience was presented with the original performance “Abai – Toq Zhan,” a deeply philosophical work that skillfully combines thought and emotion. The play is based on the teachings of the great thinker Abai Kunanbayev about the “complete person,” conveying ideas of spiritual development, conscience, knowledge, and harmony of the heart through the language of theatre.
Every stage decision by the “Salt” theatre, the sincerity of the actors’ performances, and the emotional depth of the production left a strong impression on the audience. The performance received high praise from the jury and became a clear reflection of the creative pursuit and professional level of student youth.
This project was not only a celebration of art, but also a platform for promoting the values of sustainable development:
— SDG 4 (Quality Education) — fostering creative and intellectual growth of youth;
— SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) — promoting spiritual and moral values.
The “Salt” student theatre once again proved that it is capable not only of creating stage art, but also of delivering meaningful content that inspires reflection and resonates deeply with the audience.
