On December 26, 2024, at 3:30 PM, a master class entitled “SCADA Systems and Their Application in Railway Transport” was held at the Department of Automation and Control. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Orunbekov M.B., a specialist in automated control systems.

During the master class, participants were introduced to the fundamental concepts, architecture, and operating principles of modern SCADA systems. Special attention was given to their practical application in railway transport, including dispatching control, real-time monitoring of technological processes, data acquisition and processing, and ensuring the reliability and safety of transport infrastructure. The lecturer highlighted the importance of SCADA systems in railway operations, emphasizing their role in improving operational efficiency, enhancing traffic safety, reducing human factor risks, and supporting effective infrastructure management. Practical examples of SCADA implementation in railway signaling, power supply, and train movement control were presented.

The master class is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

The event attracted strong interest from students and staff and contributed to the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Such educational initiatives support the development of digital competencies and promote the adoption of modern technologies in the transport sector.
