Today, our university hosted a seminar on raising awareness about autism and developing inclusive communication. The event was held in two sessions: for students and advisors (12:00–12:40) and for teaching staff (12:40–13:40). The speaker was Elena Vladimirovna Musikhina, PhD in Psychology, Associate Professor.
Organized by the Head of the Office of Inclusive Education and Mental Health, Dariya Shabdenova, the seminar gathered over 80 students and 20 faculty members. During the guest lecture, “Youth in an Inclusive Society,” Elena Vladimirovna discussed social adaptation, inclusion, and the role of youth in building an open and humane society.
Special attention was given to developing empathy, respect for individuality, and equality in the educational environment — key principles directly related to Sustainable Development Goal #10: Reduced Inequalities.
The lecture sparked active discussions, questions from students and faculty, and marked an important step in fostering a culture of inclusive thinking at ALT University.
