On January 16, 2026, seminar trainings within the framework of the ALT Winter School for Advisors were held. The event was organized to provide social and psychological support to academic advisors and to promote professional experience exchange among higher education institutions in the city of Almaty. Within the program, a number of relevant issues related to student support were discussed, with particular attention given to the following topics:
- “Psychological Resilience and Prevention of Professional Burnout among Advisors”;
- “Working with Crisis and Maladaptive Student Behavior”.
The seminar trainings were conducted by:
- Aigerim M. Suleimenova — Gestalt therapist, international CADAP trainer, Head of the Psychological Service of Satbayev University;
- Jamila S. Alminova — Counseling psychologist, specialist in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) of International University of Information Technologies.
These topics are highly relevant in modern educational settings, as early identification of professional burnout and student crisis conditions helps prevent serious psychological and social consequences, ensures a safe educational environment, and supports students’ successful socialization and personal development.
The event was opened by Vice-Rector for Corporate and Social Development Andrey Alexandrovich Ivanov, who delivered a welcoming address and presented letters of appreciation to the participants and trainers. As a result of the seminar trainings, advisors acquired practical skills in:
- early identification of emotional burnout and maladaptation among students;
- providing primary psychological support in crisis situations;
- effective communication with students experiencing high levels of stress and anxiety;
- applying preventive strategies to maintain their own professional resilience.
