A significant working meeting was held at ALT University named after Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpayev, marking the transition from traditional cooperation to deep integration between the university and one of the country’s key industrial players – Alatau Zharyk Company JSC. The dialogue between the university leadership and top managers of the company focused on creating a fundamentally new model of personnel training, where the boundary between classroom and production floor is erased.

Integration of Science and Industry

The participants discussed the interim results of establishing a branch of the department at the company. This step transfers the educational process from academic classrooms to a real production environment and will also allow to:

  • Engage leading industry experts in delivering lectures;
  • Conduct research projects based on real cases relevant to the company;
  • Reduce the gap between students’ theoretical knowledge and modern labor market requirements.

Dual Education and Industrial Internship

Special attention was paid to the implementation of a dual education system. Within this model, students will be able to combine academic studies with work at real production facilities.

“We take on the role of a co-educator. A student who joins dual education becomes our junior colleague. We provide not just a workplace, but a step-by-step career path: from training grounds and simulators to work at real facilities under the guidance of experienced mentors. This requires investments in mentoring infrastructure, but in return we receive fully prepared specialists adapted to our needs,” company representatives noted.

In turn, university representatives expressed confidence that this initiative offers an opportunity to transform theory into practice in real time.

“We are transferring part of the educational process to a platform where students see not diagrams in textbooks, but actual high-voltage equipment, control and diagnostic systems in operation. This will allow our teachers to update courses, and students to conduct graduation projects and research not on abstract topics, but on real technological challenges of the company. We are becoming part of the enterprise’s innovation ecosystem,” emphasized Rector of the University M.S. Zharmagambetova.

During the meeting, issues related to organizing industrial internships were also thoroughly discussed. Company representatives confirmed their readiness to provide students with access to high-tech production sites under the supervision of experienced mentors.

Guaranteed Employment: Career Growth

Particular emphasis was placed on employment issues. For the company, this is a strategic way to meet staffing needs, and for students – confidence in the future.

“We do not just provide internships – we form the кадровый reserve of the future. Every student who comes to our department branch is our potential colleague,” noted a representative of the company’s management.

Results and Prospects

Concluding the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the establishment of the department branch and the development of dual education would become a powerful impetus for both sides. The university gains an opportunity to improve the quality of education, while the company receives a steady flow of qualified personnel ready to solve complex production tasks.
