In order to implement the University’s roadmap for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Department of “Transport Construction” organized and conducted a student seminar on the topic “The Use of Renewable Energy Sources in Transport Infrastructure,” which took place on March 28, 2025, in auditorium 5003.

The event became an important step in integrating the principles of sustainable development into the educational process, raising students’ awareness about the potential applications of renewable energy sources (RES) in various areas of transport construction. The seminar covered key aspects related to the use of alternative energy sources in transport infrastructure, such as solar, wind, and hydro energy, as well as biofuels and hydrogen technologies. Special attention was given to innovative solutions and practical examples of integrating RES into existing and planned transport systems, which is a crucial element in achieving the SDGs aimed at reducing carbon emissions and minimizing the environmental impact of the transport sector.

During the seminar, students, faculty members, and experts discussed the prospects and challenges facing the transport industry in the context of transitioning to renewable energy sources, as well as explored possible ways to integrate such solutions into national and international transport projects.
