On March 3, 2026, ALT University and the Almaty Heavy Machine Building Plant signed a memorandum of intent aimed at developing a long-term partnership. The collaboration focuses on strengthening the link between higher education and the real sector of the economy. Central themes include enhancing the quality of specialist training, advancing practice-oriented learning, and integrating industrial expertise into the educational process.

The enterprise will participate in the development and approval of educational programs, as well as the expansion of dual education. Plans include conducting joint scientific and educational events, implementing modern teaching methodologies, and creating relevant educational materials tailored to the needs of the machine-building industry.

University students will have the opportunity to undergo industrial internships at the plant, while master’s and doctoral students, as well as faculty members, can participate in research internships and professional development programs. Experts from the enterprise will be involved in guest lectures and advisory work with students. Particular attention is given to facilitating graduate employment and implementing joint scientific research projects.

During the visit, a campus tour was organized for the plant representatives, led by the Chair of the Board – Rector of the University, Meruert Zharmagambetova, and the university’s senior management. The delegation was presented with modern classrooms, specialized laboratories, and the renovated campus infrastructure, alongside the university’s key development pillars—ranging from the digitalization of the learning environment to the training of highly sought-after engineering and technical specialists.
