As part of the “Cadastre” cycle, lecturers of the Department of Transport Construction organized a debate involving second-year students majoring in Cadastre and Urban Planning. During the discussion, students explored how to find a balance between preserving the historical character of cities and constructing modern facilities, considering the principles of sustainable development and public interests. The discussion combined theoretical knowledge with an analysis of practical urban planning and cadastral aspects.
The aim of the debate was to develop students’ critical thinking, argumentative skills, and their ability to assess the consequences of urban planning decisions for the sustainable development of cities. The debate allowed students to share their views, evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of both strategies, build well-reasoned arguments, and draw conclusions about the necessity of maintaining a balance between preserving historical heritage and developing modern infrastructure. Students participated actively and showed strong interest, while the lecturers noted the effectiveness of the discussion.
