On October 15, 2026, ALT University named after Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpaev hosted a guest lecture delivered by representatives of China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC), an international engineering and construction company. The event was attended by students enrolled in the Railway Construction, Track and Track Facilities; Radio Electronics and Telecommunications; Electric Power Engineering; and Automation and Control educational programmes.
The speakers were Mr. Ge Xing and Mr. Wei Chong, Heads of the company’s Systems and Communications Department. They introduced students to CHEC’s operations, key areas of activity, and experience in delivering international engineering and infrastructure projects. They also discussed the specific responsibilities of specialists working in railway signalling, centralisation and blocking systems, as well as railway communications.
Particular attention was given to the development of Kazakhstan’s railway infrastructure. China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. is currently involved in the construction of the Bakhty–Ayagoz railway line, a project of strategic importance for the development of the country’s transport and logistics connectivity.
The company representatives also outlined the professional requirements for young specialists and the career opportunities available within an international engineering and construction organisation. Students were invited to explore opportunities to participate in dual education programmes, undertake practical training, and pursue future employment with the company.
The guest lecture provided future specialists with an opportunity to learn about real-world challenges in the railway industry, modern signalling and communications technologies, and professional development prospects. Such meetings help strengthen cooperation between the university and employers while creating additional opportunities for practice-oriented education.
