The RT Department organized a guest lecture on December 10, 2025, on the topic “IoT in Action: How Teltonika GPS Trackers Are Transforming Transport and Logistics.”
The guest speakers were Arkhabayev Alzhan, IoT Engineer at Teltonika, and Yerzhan Assel Anuarkyzy, Associate Professor at Satbayev University.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is an ecosystem of interconnected physical devices (sensors, controllers, drones, industrial nodes) that collect, transmit, and process data in real time. Today, IoT is a key technology driving digital transformation.
At present, IoT is applied in almost all areas of life, but it is most actively used in the following sectors:
– Industry (IIoT): predictive maintenance, digital twins, quality control;
– Smart cities: lighting, parking, environmental monitoring, video surveillance;
– Transport and UAVs: telemetry, M2M communication, autonomy;
– Energy: smart grids, metering, and load management;
– Healthcare: wearable sensors, remote monitoring;
– Agriculture: precision farming, soil and climate monitoring.
Both students and faculty members found the lecture engaging and actively participated in the activities. We would like to thank the guest speakers for an informative, comprehensive, and interesting lecture.
