Our university held a working meeting with a representative of Universal Tech Decisions (UTD), one of Kazakhstan’s leading transportation research and IT companies. As a resident of the Nazarbayev University Technopark, UTD specializes in the development of digital twins for transport systems, Big Data analytics, and the application of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies for smart cities.
The meeting focused on establishing a comprehensive ecosystem for training the next generation of specialists. Both parties agreed that modern education should extend beyond classroom walls and be closely connected with real industry challenges.
The planned partnership will be developed across three key areas:
- Modernization of academic programs – integrating real-life transport modeling cases into the educational process.
- Joint research projects – engaging students and faculty members in large-scale studies on urban mobility and Big Data analysis.
- New opportunities for students – providing internships, paid traineeships at the company’s operational sites in Astana and Almaty, and future employment prospects for top graduates.
The visit of the Universal Tech Decisions representative marks a new stage in the integration of science, education, and the real sector of the economy. This collaboration will enable our students to acquire the most relevant digital competencies and practical experience before graduation.
