The VI Forum of Scientists from the CIS Member States was held in Almaty on 29 October 2026 as part of the 80th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event brought together scientists, experts, and representatives of scientific and educational institutions from CIS countries.
The discussions focused on the application of artificial intelligence in science, the training of researchers, the development of international cooperation, and the use of digital technologies in education, medicine, agriculture, energy, and sustainable development.
The agenda of the Forum is closely aligned with the Address of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, “Current Tasks of Kazakhstan in a New Historical Cycle.” The Head of State identified the widespread introduction of artificial intelligence, the development of the Digital Qazaqstan strategy, the formation of a digital economy, and the training of qualified professionals as key priorities for the country’s modernization.
The participation of ALT University professors — Bekazhnova S.E., Professor at the Department of Logistics and Business; Ismagulova Zh.S., Associate Professor at the Department of Compute Sciences; and Ivanovtseva N.V., Associate Professor at the Department of Rolling Stock — in the Forum contributes to the development of scientific dialogue, the strengthening of international professional ties, and the promotion of advanced digital solutions in education and transport engineering.
Their participation also supports the achievement of SDG 4 “Quality Education,” SDG 9 “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure,” and SDG 17 “Partnerships for the Goals” by integrating the development of scientific human capital, the introduction of artificial intelligence, and international research cooperation.
