The Department of General Engineering at ALT University named after M. Tynyshpayev held a teaching methodology seminar entitled “Modern Methods of Organizing Blended Learning in Physics Teaching.” The seminar, conducted by Dinara Tanashbekovna Aldekeyeva, was aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4, “Quality Education.” The event brought together lecturers to exchange teaching experience and discuss opportunities for combining classroom instruction with digital educational resources.

Blended learning integrates face-to-face interaction with the lecturer and students’ independent preparation in an online learning environment. In physics teaching, this approach enables a structured learning process, from an initial introduction to key concepts to problem-solving, experimentation, and analysis of the results.

One method of organizing blended learning is the flipped classroom. Students study short theoretical materials, video lectures, or presentations in advance and then apply their knowledge to solving physics problems during class. This allows more time for explaining challenging topics, collaborative discussion, and individual support.

Combining computer simulations with hands-on laboratory experiments is particularly valuable in physics education. Interactive models help students visualize physical processes, explore relationships between quantities, and prepare for measurements. Working with laboratory equipment, in turn, develops practical skills and the ability to assess measurement uncertainties and justify conclusions.

Sharing teaching experience contributes to improving physics instruction and identifying approaches that make learning more visual and meaningful. A well-planned combination of digital tools, direct interaction with the lecturer, and experimental work creates opportunities to develop students’ independence and build a solid foundation of engineering knowledge.

The event supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4, “Quality Education,” by promoting modern educational technologies, improving teaching quality, and expanding students’ opportunities to access practical, application-oriented engineering education.
