Within the framework of the “Community Service” initiative, first-year students from the Department of Automation and Control at the Institute of Energy and Digital Technologies are actively engaging in socially impactful and professionally oriented activities. This practical approach enables future engineers to not only cultivate core technical competencies but also apply their academic knowledge to address pressing social and environmental challenges, making a tangible contribution to regional infrastructure and sustainable urban development.
As a practical step toward improving urban ecology, the students actively participated in environmental maintenance and tree-planting activities on the grounds of Dostyk Park. The university delegation and the environmental campaign were supervised by Senior Lecturer Asylzat Sharapatkyzy Abyghazy and Assistant Lecturer Aruzhan Shinbolatovna Karassayeva.
This student-led initiative closely aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 13 — “Climate Action” and SDG 7 — “Affordable and Clean Energy.” Fostering environmental awareness, ensuring the responsible use of natural resources, and designing a resilient urban environment are deeply interconnected with modern energy efficiency strategies and ecological safety.
