Students from ALT University named after M. Tynyshpaev, group TCS 22 1k, took part in a practical field session dedicated to the power supply of communication equipment, held at the production site of the telecommunications company — the Almaty Transtelecom branch of Transtelecom JSC.
The session was organized by Bakytzhan Estemesovich Mamilov, Associate Professor at the Department of Radio Engineering and Telecommunications of ALT, together with Mr. Azamat Mukhtaruly, Head of the Secondary Internet Network of the Almaty Transtelecom branch, an experienced specialist who demonstrated the operation of equipment and shared insights on real-world technical challenges.
Overview of operational equipment — students became familiar with uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.
Discussion with company engineers — the session took place in a Q&A format directly in the working environment.
Demonstration of energy backup systems — students observed how reliable telecommunications are ensured in practice.
As part of the session, students had a unique opportunity to:
• observe professionals in the telecommunications field at work;
• study the principles of building and redundancy in power supply systems;
• assess the effectiveness of energy consumption monitoring and management;
• apply theoretical knowledge in real-world conditions.
Practical experience at the Almaty Transtelecom branch helps students see the connection between academic disciplines and real engineering tasks, develop analytical and technical skills, and prepare for their future professional careers.
