Meeting with representatives of public organizations to explain the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan
On September 17, 2024, M. Tynyshpaev ALT University was visited by a member of the coordinating council of the NGO in the form of the association “Civil Alliance of Almaty”, a member of the Public Council of Almaty Abdyhalykov Kairzhan Sayasatovich, head of the Radiation Safety Department of the Institute of Nuclear Physics Mukhortov Mikhail Sergeevich and Adviser to the chairman of the Almaty city branch of the Green Party “Baytak” Agybaev Berik.
The guests explained in detail to the audience about the safety of the construction of this facility on the territory of Kazakhstan in the vicinity of Balkhash. Which, like all nuclear power plants in the world, can be more practical to use than alternative sources of electricity storage (wind farms and solar panels). The audience learned about the construction of 2 reactors. The economic side of the project has become a positive and important aspect. Experts noted that there will be no constant increase in electricity bills in the republic.
The gathered audience asked a lot of interesting questions, which were answered by the guests. The professionals at the meeting provided a lot of information about the new project.
