On October 18 of this year, a guest lecture on the topic: “Maintenance of Passenger Cars (TO-1,2,3), Preparation for Departure, and Approval for Main Railway Networks” was held at the university. The lecture was delivered by Rysebek Erkinovich Abubakirov, Chief Engineer of the Almaty Maintenance Depot of the branch of JSC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” – “Almaty Cargo Transportation Department.” The lecture was attended by second-year students of the educational program “Rolling Stock Engineering.”

Rysebek Erkinovich spoke about the various stages of technical maintenance of passenger cars, which are aimed at ensuring their operability and safety during operation. He explained in detail the processes involved in TO-1, TO-2, and TO-3, each of which includes different levels of inspection and repair. Special attention was paid to the importance of timely replacement of worn-out parts and the regular inspection of key systems such as brakes, heating, and ventilation.

The Chief Engineer also discussed the preparation of the cars before departure, emphasizing that it includes not only a technical inspection but also checks on fire safety systems, sanitary conditions, and other aspects that contribute to passenger comfort and safety. He noted that thorough checks before each departure help prevent potential malfunctions that could occur during the journey.

Special attention was given to the process of approval for the main railway network (MZhS). Abubakirov explained that cars undergo strict inspections to ensure they meet all safety standards, guaranteeing their reliability on long-distance routes.

During the conversation, the Chief Engineer emphasized that thanks to the coordinated work of the engineering services and a multi-step inspection system, passenger cars can provide safe and comfortable travel for thousands of people daily. Regular maintenance not only reduces the risk of accidents but also significantly extends the service life of the cars.

At the end of the lecture, Rysebek Erkinovich addressed the students with parting words, encouraging them to continuously improve their professional skills and take responsibility for their future work. He wished the young engineers success in their studies and careers, highlighting the importance of their role in ensuring the safe operation of railway transport.
