On October 30, 2023, a guest lecture was held at the “Automation and Management” department, conducted by Talgat Jumaanovich Espanov, focusing on the implementation of innovative technologies in the field of rail transport. Talgat Jumaanovich Espanov is an honored railway worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan and previously headed the branch of JSC “National Company “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” – “Almaty Mainline Network”. The event gathered students interested in modern solutions to enhance the efficiency and safety of transportation.
One of the key topics of the lecture was the discussion of the interval regulation system for train movement (SIRDPE). This system aims to optimize movement schedules, improve safety, and increase the capacity of railway lines. The system allows for the establishment of optimal intervals between trains, significantly reducing the risk of collisions and increasing the efficiency of infrastructure use. A distinctive feature of SIRDPE is the use of radio signals for data transmission between trains and the control center. Talgat Espanov highlighted several key advantages of implementing SIRDPE: reduced travel time, increased capacity, and improved safety.
Talgat Espanov’s guest lecture was an important event for students studying automation and management in rail transport. The introduction of systems like SIRDPE opens new horizons for enhancing efficiency and safety in this key sector. Students had the unique opportunity not only to familiarize themselves with theoretical aspects but also to ask questions to a practicing specialist, which undoubtedly inspires them to further explore modern technologies in the field of rail transport.
