On April 10, Beijing hosted the China Study Abroad Forum (CSAF) and the China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET). Kazakhstan participated in the event for the first time on such a large scale, presenting a national pavilion and showcasing the country’s higher education opportunities.

Speaking at the forum, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan Gulzat Kobenova highlighted the development of higher education, international academic cooperation, and the “Study in Kazakhstan” initiative, which aims to attract up to 100,000 international students by 2029.

Under the theme “Kazakhstan – the Territory of Academic Knowledge,” 27 leading Kazakh universities presented their academic programs and partnership opportunities. Representatives of Kazakhstan’s universities emphasized the growing interest of Chinese students in studying in Kazakhstan, as well as the expansion of double-degree programs and joint research projects.

Kazakhstan’s participation in CSAF and CIEET is aimed at promoting the national higher education system, strengthening international partnerships, and increasing the global visibility of Kazakh universities.
