On March 4, 2025, a meeting of advisors-curators and heads of Student Houses with the psychologist of the Youth Health Center, Kristina Aleksandrovna Kerimova, took place. The topic of the meeting was “Suicide Prevention”. The main goal of the event was to raise awareness of the signs of suicidal behavior among students, as well as to teach methods of preventing it and providing primary support.
During the meeting, the following issues were discussed:
- The main signs of suicidal risk and alarming signals in student behavior.
- Factors influencing the occurrence of suicidal thoughts, including psychological, social and family aspects.
- Methods for identifying students in crisis and algorithms for providing primary care.
- The role of an advisor-curator in the prevention of suicidal behavior: building trusting relationships, timely referral to specialists.
At the end of the meeting, the participants exchanged experiences and asked questions of interest. The advisors and curators noted the importance of such meetings and the need to continue work in this direction.
