Today, the “Rolling Stock” department organized a seminar on the topic “Eco-Technologies and Digitalization in the Production of Locomotives and Wagons in the Republic of Kazakhstan.” The event was attended by students of the “Rolling Stock Engineering” educational program, who presented their reports:

🔹 Artem Volodin (US-IPS-(E)-24-3p group) – “Design and Development of Eco-Friendly Engines for Diesel Locomotives in Kazakhstan”
🔹 Mukatay Kuanysh (US-IPS(E)-24-3p group) – “Electric Locomotives in the Republic of Kazakhstan”

The seminar was aimed at students and faculty members and focused on achieving key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 7 – Expanding access to modern and environmentally friendly energy sources
SDG 8 – Promoting sustainable economic growth and decent employment
SDG 9 – Developing infrastructure, industrialization, and innovation
SDG 12 – Implementing rational consumption and production models

Currently, Kazakhstan is actively developing eco-friendly technologies in the railway sector, with a particular focus on local production of rolling stock and the implementation of modern test sites utilizing domestic innovative developments. These measures contribute to adapting to climate change and minimizing the negative impact on the environment.
