As part of the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—SDG 3 “Good Health and Well-Being,” SDG 4 “Quality Education,” SDG 10 “Reduced Inequalities,” SDG 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions,” and SDG 17 “Partnerships for the Goals”—the Office of Inclusive Education and Mental Health held the final day of Practical Psychology Week.
The closing event of Practical Psychology Week was conducted by Daria Rakhimalievna Shabdenova, Head of the Office of Inclusive Education and Mental Health at ALT University, and psychologist-consultant Nurkhan Amanzholuly Qapar.
To conclude the project, film therapy sessions were organized in four Student Houses of ALT University. Participants were able not only to watch specially selected films but also to discuss the themes, emotions, life situations, and interpersonal relationships presented in them.
Film therapy helps people view their own experiences from an outside perspective, better understand the characters’ emotional states, and discover different ways of overcoming life’s challenges. The group discussion allowed participants to share their impressions, listen to one another’s opinions, and develop a more mindful attitude toward their feelings.
Each group was also offered the opportunity to take part voluntarily in brief consultations using art therapy techniques and metaphorical associative cards (MAC).
Practical Psychology Week is coming to an end; however, caring for mental health, being attentive to oneself, and remaining ready to support others continue to be important parts of university life. If you have any concerns, you can contact us for psychological support!
We thank all the participants and specialists who joined the activities of Practical Psychology Week!
