The Afghan war became a serious trial for thousands of young people. They went to serve fulfilling the order of their Motherland, often not fully realizing the hardships they would face. Yet, in the most difficult conditions, they demonstrated resilience, self-sacrifice, loyalty to their oath, and true brotherhood.

The memory of the fallen soldiers will forever remain in our hearts. Their heroism is an example of true patriotism, courage, and responsibility to their country and people. It is our sacred duty to preserve this memory and pass it on to the younger generation so that the lessons of history are never forgotten.

Today, the staff of ALT University named after Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpaev honors the veterans of the Afghan war: reserve colonel Ishанов E.Kh., Head of the Institute of Military Affairs; retired colonel Ermekbayev E.Kh., senior lecturer; Toilybayev A.E., Head of the Department of Motor Transport and Life Safety; Kaliyev S.Z., employee of the Department of Infrastructure Management; as well as internationalist soldiers: reserve colonel Seksenbayev N.M., Deputy Head of the Institute of Military Affairs, and retired colonel Timoshenkov V.A., senior lecturer. These are people who endured severe trials while preserving honor, strength of spirit, and faith in justice. They are living witnesses of history and an example of courage and resilience for young people.

We sincerely thank them for their service, their contribution to peace and stability, their active civic position, and their role in patriotic education of the younger generation.

May this day become a day of remembrance, respect, and gratitude. We wish all combat veterans good health, peace, prosperity, and confidence in the future. May peaceful skies always remain above our land.

Lessons of the Afghan War:

  1. Society should remember the Afghan war as a complex and tragic lesson of history — a memory of courage and sacrifice, as well as reflection on the consequences of political decisions.
  2. The main lesson of the Afghan war is the need for balanced political decisions and responsibility for their consequences. Armed conflicts always lead to human losses and long-term social trauma.
  3. The younger generation must remember history, respect the heroism of their elders, and understand that peace is the greatest value. Make conscious choices, value human life, and strive for creation rather than destruction.
